What's keeping us busy now...

Okay, so a lot has happened in the last week! WOW! First, let me say, we would like to introduce to you Isabel Lorraine. She was born on August 19 and was 7lb. 8.3 oz. and 20.5 in. long. She is so adorable and has a head full of hair (and the myth about heartburn is wrong, cause I had none).
Us at the wedding reception - August 18, 2007
It all started on her due date (August 18) when my water broke just after getting home and settling down after a wedding we had been at all day (Lee was in it). Lee and I were joking around how she only had a few more hours if she was going to make coming on her due date...well, she must have heard us because not too much longer we were headed to the hospital.
We are so thankful for her and how the Lord really orchestrated everything. We couldn't feel more blessed. Thank you for your prayers!!!
Enjoy the pictures of our baby girl!

Peach Pie

Well, thanks to all of you who gave me SO much sympathy about the cookie scenario.:P Anyway, I moved on to bigger and brighter things...peach pie. Yes, I'm becoming very domestic in my last weeks of pregnancy. Whether or not this is a good thing I'm not sure yet. Lee doesn't care for peaches, so I brought the pie into work today because there is no way I'm eating a whole pie on my own. I did sneak a piece after it came out of the oven though and it turned out pretty good, for it being the first peach pie I have ever made by myself.

Cookies, Peach Pie, who knows what it will be next???:) Probably nothing as soon as "baby" Nordine decides to make her appearance.

Cookies without eggs

So last night Lee and I were looking for something to do. We thought, hey we could make some cookies. As I mentally went through the ingredients we would need I discovered we didn't have any eggs. Bummer. Then one of us said, well there must be a recipe on the internet for cookies that doesn't use eggs. Sure enough, we found one for Peanut Butter cookies. The recipe looked fairly simple and we had all the ingredients. We decided to half the recipe because it said it made a lot and we didn't want that many.

So the timer goes off and Lee and I pull the cookies out of the oven excited to taste them. We both take a bite and chew and look at each other and then just start to laugh. Well, let's just say the cookies were pretty much GROSS! We had decided to make a few with some chocolate chips/butterscotch chips that we had and do some plain ones too. The ones with chips tasted a little better, but still they just weren't that good.

Anyway, the moral of the story...don't attempt to make cookies when you don't have eggs.

I hate when he's right:)

So the last couple of days I have been praying about something, and I told Lee about it and told him how I'd been praying for a sign from God, any sign, just a sign. Well, as I was telling my dear husband about this, he says, "Candace, that is your sign. Your sign is to just wait and be patient." Instantly, I knew he was so right and how wrong I was as I waited for my "sign." Thank you Lord for my godly husband.

Blessings...

So early this morning while lying in bed the Lord spoke to me and told me about several of the blessings I should be thinking about as I wait patiently for the arrival of our little girl. Here are two of them:

Blessing one: I have continued to sleep very well and enjoy my sleep. Not many pregnant women sleep well when they are 38 weeks pregnant. After the baby arrives I will not be getting the same restful sleep I do now.

Blessing two: I have a wonderful husband who I get to spend time with. Whenever this little one decides to arrive it will no longer be just the two of us, so I need to enjoy it now.

Thank you Lord for showing me how to be content in my human discontentment.
