One, Two, Five

Isabel for the last month or so has enjoyed playing hide and seek. She always goes and hides in the same spot (behind her crib) and usually starts laughing before you "find" her, but it is fun. She'll even let Lee or I hide now (of course she shows us where we should hide, usually her closet) and will go off in the living room and count on her own, "one, two, five." So we're still working on the counting, but I thought it was pretty good.

Popcorn and a movie

Yesterday morning Isabel was asking to watch the movie Cars. She hasn't ever really seen the movie, there is a short film on th DVD though that is only about 7 min. long and I've played it for her and Jacob before. They love it. So instead of letting her watch Cars right then and there we told her we'd have a movie night after her bath (got the idea from Melissa on a post she had awhile back). She didn't really know what this meant exactly, but seemed excited about it. As an added bonus we told her we'd have popcorn. Again, she had no idea what popcorn is, but it seemed new and exciting. So evening came and we setup our movie night: pulled out a bunch of pillows, popped our popcorn, and started Cars. So...our movie night only lasted about 20 min. because that's about the amount of time something can hold Isabel's attention, but it was fun. She LOVED the popcorn. In fact one of the first things she said this morning when she woke up was, "popcorn."Note to self and other pregnant women: Once your child goes to bed, don't finish the bowl of popcorn and a box of Sour Patch Kids. It leaves you feeling much like a beached whale when you go to bed. Not that I really know what that feels like, but it seemed to describe how I felt.

We survived

This past weekend Lee was gone to New York City. Isabel and I were home alone all weekend, and thankfully we survived. I typically don't like being home alone by myself, but it didn't seem too bad this time. I usually have trouble sleeping when Lee's not around, but it seemed like this time chasing after an 18 month old and being pregnant made me good and tired so I slept pretty well. We are definitely glad daddy is back though! Here's a picture of the two survivors. We attended a birthday dinner for a friend one night and our friend took this.

All girl

Isabel is definitely all girl. She loves any type of accessory, especially her "bracelets." We've found baby links work as the best bracelets. They are just her size. I think she had on six or seven in this picture.

Papa and Mima Visit

Isabel's Papa and Mima have been visiting since they came back from their trip to CA. We've had lots of fun and Isabel is going to miss them terribly when they leave tomorrow. Here are a few highlights:

Trying out our new slide (church garage sale purchase). It was a hit with both Isabel and Jacob.
Isabel was not content until EVERYONE tried the slide...including Papa, Mima, and MommyIsabel and Mima
We went shopping...and we shopped...and shopped...and shopped...till we dropped. Like my new shirt?Cute daddy picture
