Isabel and RJ

Lee took this picture with his phone so the quality is not the best, but I think it is such an adorable picture. Isabel is holding her dolly (aka RJ), a gift from her Indiana grandparents, the Stiles.
We love you guys!

Lemons?

Lemons? We've started to give Isabel a few "people food" items. She doesn't have teeth yet, but can gum somethings. Much to our surprise she LOVES lemons. You know the wedges they put in your water glass at a restaurant, she sucks on them like they are a paci. No scrunched up face or shivers when she sucks on them. Who knew babies can like lemons?

A side note: I just wanted to say what an awesome pastor we have at Grace. We are very blessed. His message today on "but God" was really encouraging. God never forgets us. God wants us to be our best just like Joseph was in whatever position/situation he was in. To hear more on the message visit Grace's website.

Conversation about dinner

Scene: Sitting/laying on floor in living room discussing dinner options after a long day at work and only an hour before small group starts.

Candace: So am I making dinner or are we going and grabbing something quick?

Lee: You decide.

Candace: If I didn't want your opinion I wouldn't have asked you.

Pause

Lee: Well, we got paid today if that makes a difference.

Gone are the days...

Gone are the days of keeping Isabel is one place. She is everywhere. Not crawling yet, but boy does she get around. She roles and scoots and wiggles her little body. Somehow no matter where we put her in the living room she always manages to get herself halfway under the couch.

Big Girl

Since Isabel started rolling over she has just blossomed into this "big girl." It's funny to look at her because I think she really thinks she is more mobile than she is. Sunday we had her at worship team practice with us. She was playing by herself very well, and then all of sudden I noticed she is rolling all over the stage (sorry Brad). Since then she has been rolling everywhere to get around, and is even getting up on her knees and rocking. It's like right after she figured out how to roll over she became this new little person that thinks she can do anything.

Unfortunately, we had to visit the Dr. again today and she has another ear infection. At least we caught it before it was too bad. A couple days of amoxicillin and she should be good to go.

A little motivation...rolling over!!!

For the last several weeks Isabel's been toying with rolling over, but she has always preferred to be on her back so didn't have much motivation. I tried putting toys out of her reach, but she still just wouldn't go the whole way....until I found the perfect motivation...a water bottle!!! Isabel loves playing with them. If she sees me drinking one she just wants to hold and play with it and put it in her mouth. So I decided to put one just out of her reach and sure enough she went for it. Here is some proud mommy video of her rolling over. This wasn't the actual first time she did it because I was too awestruck to video tape anything and then Cydney said, Candace go videotape her...so I got her doing it again. Here's my big girl!

You know you're getting old when....

Saturday afternoon after the big storm and the snow had stopped falling Lee and I went out to shovel the driveway. There was at least over a foot of snow to shovel on most of the driveway and more in other places where it had drifted. It was so nice to get out of the house after being cooped up (don't worry Isabel wasn't with us my mom was inside with her). Lee and I talked about building a snowman, but the snow just wasn't sticky enough. Then we talked about building a fort, but we both just looked at each other and said (here's the, you know you're getting old when...part comes in), "Nah, too much work." Oh well, maybe when Isabel gets older and she can help too.

I guess Lee was feeling youthful the next day though because he had gone out to shovel the sidewalks for the kids that walk to school and when I looked out the window to check on his progress. I found him working on this...

So Isabel and I went out to help (for a few sec.)...

The final product...

Kentucky Snow Storm

Hope all of our Kentucky friends are surviving the snow storm okay! For all of you non-Kentuckians we have had a blizzard warning since yesterday with level 2 and 3 snow emergencies (meaning you aren't supposed to be on the road unless it is an emergency and you can even get ticketed).

If you are like us, we are getting slightly bored of being inside. Here are a couple pictures we took of our exciting day.
