While driving to Indy I was on the phone with one of my closest friends, Audrey; unfortunately, we are miles apart. She was sharing with me how tomorrow, May 1 is the National Day of Prayer. Then she told me how when she was in church last Sunday, the Lord really put it on her heart to do something...but, what can she do? She is a stay at home mom and going out somewhere in a public place to pray with a group of people isn't the easiest with two kids. So she decided to invite some ladies over for a pray play date (say that three times fast). And while the kids play the moms would pray (with one eye open):). Aud, I hope it's ok I shared this. So tomorrow Audrey and her guest will be praying.
Inspired by Audrey I would like to do something like this as well. However, seeing how tomorrow is May 1 there's not really enough time to pull something like this together.
So, I would like to invite, whatever moms that read this and would like to be part of something like to this contact me. I don't care if I don't know you very well. It's a way to get to know you. Please let me know what you think. I'd like to do something next week if possible.

Night in Indy
Lee left yesterday morning for a convention in Indianapolis. So instead of staying home by ourselves, Isabel and I packed up after I got done with work yesterday and drove to stay the night with him.
It was a short trip, but we had a lot of fun.
Here are some pics.
The sky was too cool not to take a picture

Cookie Mess
I've given Isabel those cookie biscuits a couple of times for fun, but Lee has never been home when I've given them to her to see the mess she makes, so I took a couple of pictures for him.
This is how I found Isabel in her bed this morning. We took her crib bumper off a couple weeks ago, and she has had an arm through the rails before, but never both legs.

Eczema
Went to the Dr. last Friday with Isabel because of a rash she's had for the last two weeks on her tummy. Turns out the Dr. is 99% sure it's eczema. He thinks it started out as a virus and turned into eczema. Poor thing. Thankfully Isabel hasn't really seemed bothered by it. So we are going to try some things recommended by the Dr. and see what happens. Putting vasoline on at night like a greased pig was one thing he recommend.:) I was reading on the internet (probably a bad thing to do) that she could have it until she is like 8 years old. Hopefully she won't, Lord willing. I guess some causes can be allergies, which I think could be the case since Lee has been having a terrible time with allergies this spring (that's what you get when you live in Kentucky). I was reading on MSN news that Lexington, KY (about 90 min. from us) is the worst place in the US for allergies. Please just be praying that it continues not to bother her and that it will clear up soon. Thanks.

Made in China
Answers in Genesis Worldwide is having an International Training Seminar this week (Laura, you've done an awesome job), where they have brought in 10 guests from around the world (pastors, Christian leaders) and they are training them so they can go back to their countries and do creation ministry.
Yesterday in staff meeting they had all of the guests introduce themselves and tell a little bit about what they do in their country.
The guest from Hong Kong was introducing himself and telling how China has the biggest population in the world, etc. Then he went on to say, one time he was teaching Sunday School and he was telling the students how God made everything. He then went on to say, a student in the class raised his hand and said, "I thought everything was made in China." :) The whole AiG staff burst out laughing. I still laugh just thinking about it.
In other news...
Isabel is crawling for sure and wants to try and pull up on anything she can.
and Rachael Neal has posted several pictures of her home office and Annelise, so I thought I would put a picture of my home office (no, I'm not in the picture, maybe another time). Yep...the couch. We have an office with our personal computer in there, but it's just easier for me to use my work computer on the couch. Isabel is helping Lee write an email.:)

2 years
I was just thinking about our house this morning and realized...wow, it's been two years this month that we bought (loaned from the bank) our house.:) I really do love our house. Despite a few things I would change, a bigger living room, a bigger bathroom (there is this bathtub in this tile store by Pier 1 in Florence that is my dream tub...I tell Lee every time we drive by it):) Anyway, just reflecting back. These last two years seem to have flown by. I was also thinking about the various pieces of furniture in our house and how they are pretty eclectic, but seem to work together. For example, like the furniture in the office (where I am now)...our desk is from a garage sale Lee's aunt and uncle had (which they brought back from South America), our file cabinet is from my college that the office I worked in was going to throw away, our side chair is from Matt Neal's parents curb, which we picked up and refurbished when they were moving, our side table is from Good Will (we mostly made it out of old books), our bookshelve is from friends in MI. Although I dream about having custom made furniture like Melissa Talbert (Ben does such a great job), I'm so thankful for what the Lord has provided us with. It will never be an Extreme Home Maker house or anything close, but it's "us" and we're happy.

Gargling
So the parenting books warn you about "raspberries," but do they warn you about gargling??? We pasted the "raspberries" stage with Isabel and eating her solids a few months ago, but now she is into gargling. She first learned this talent while giving her the antibiotic for her ear infections. She would gargle the medicine before swallowing. Today she decided to gargle every bite of food I put in her mouth. Oh the joys of parenting:) I love you sweet girl!

Cast your vote
So there is a debate between Lee and I as to if Isabel is really crawling. I say she is. Lee says she just sort of flops around to where she wants to go. So...cast your vote. And no, she doesn't really eat the dog chew. It was just for effect:) Not really, she just always wants the things she's not supposed to have.

Dr.?
Hey does anyone use Pediatric Assoc? Our Dr. there that we love is leaving and I need to find someone new. We went there today (yes, Isabel has ear infections again) and I was not happy with the Dr. we saw. Can anyone recommend anyone they really like?

Enjoying Spring
Isabel with her new sunglasses
Isabel is growing so fast. She's pulling herself up on things. She going forward in her attempts to crawl rather than backwards, she sort of looks like an inch worm or something. We are enjoying this time in her life so much and are definitely enjoying spring!

So true
Through it all, through it all
I've learned to trust in Jesus
I've learned to trust in God
Through it all, Through it all
I've learned to depend upon His word
(lyrics from a song I found in a letter from Lee from several years ago)
